Original photography, rights-checked media

Every gear review, tutorial, and editing guide on this site is illustrated primarily with my own original photography — the same photos featured in the Collections throughout this site. Where a manufacturer’s own official product photo is used instead (common for gear reviews specifically — using a manufacturer’s promotional photo of their own product to review that product is a well-established fair-use pattern), or a software-tutorial screenshot is used for an editing guide, it’s noted. I don’t use another reviewer’s photos, stock photography presented as my own work, or any image whose rights are unclear.

Affiliate / commercial links

Some articles — particularly gear reviews and buying guides — may include affiliate links (for example, to retailers where you can buy the camera, lens, or accessory reviewed). If you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which gear I choose to review or how I rate it.

Camera and lens brand names, model names, and logos referenced on this site belong to their respective manufacturers. This is an independent site with no affiliation to or endorsement by any camera or lens manufacturer unless explicitly stated.

Prints and products

Items listed on the Stores page (when available) are sold directly by darkroom.id, separate from any AdSense advertising on this site.
